Why Do People Start Talking Therapy?

Life can be complicated, difficult and challenging at times. You may, for example:

  • be facing big changes at work or in your private life
  • be feeling stuck in certain situations
  • overwhelmed by the demands placed on you
  • be grieving
  • feel that past experiences are impacting your present life
  • have relationship difficulties
  • be struggling with anxiety or depression
  • coming to terms with life impacting health issues

There are countless reasons why people may find aspects of life difficult. Having experienced therapy from both sides, client and therapist, my experience is that therapy can help make a positive difference. It can help you gain a greater understanding of yourself and your difficulties. You may identify patterns of thought, feelings and behaviour that could be holding you back. Therapy can help you see things in a new light, and develop new ways of managing your life.
